Contraindications:
Avoid or use cautiously in patients with hypersensitivity to any ingredient, those with hypervitaminosis A or D (excess vitamin intake disorders), individuals with severe renal or hepatic impairment, and patients already taking other vitamin or mineral supplements due to the risk of overdose.
Side Effects:
Usually well-tolerated when taken as directed. Nausea, stomach upset, or diarrhea. Metallic taste in mouth (due to zinc). Headache or dizziness (rare). Mild skin rash (rare allergic reaction).
Precautions:
Take after food to reduce gastric irritation. Avoid taking two multivitamins together. Consult a doctor before taking during pregnancy, lactation, or chronic illness. Monitor diabetic patients — some formulations contain small amounts of sugar in syrup form. Store in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight.
Dietary Restrictions:
Maintain a balanced diet with natural sources of vitamins and minerals. Avoid alcohol and smoking, which reduce vitamin absorption. Drink plenty of water. Do not consume iron, calcium, or zinc supplements separately unless prescribed — may lead to overdose. Avoid taking with antacids, calcium, or tetracycline antibiotics (can reduce zinc absorption) — space by at least 2 hours.
