Used For:

• AN-D is prescribed for conditions related to excess stomach acid and delayed gastric emptying, such as:
  GERD (acid reflux)
  Acidity / Heartburn
  Gastritis
  Peptic ulcer disease
  Nausea/vomiting caused by acidity
  Bloating, indigestion
  LPR (silent reflux)
  Acid-related cough or hoarseness

Adult Dosage:

• 1 capsule once daily, empty stomach, 30 minutes before breakfast.
  In severe cases: 1 capsule twice daily (before breakfast & dinner) — only if prescribed.
  Duration: usually 2–8 weeks, depending on condition.

Contraindications:

• Allergy to pantoprazole or domperidone
  Heart rhythm disorders (QT prolongation)
  Prolactin tumors (domperidone increases prolactin)
  Moderate to severe liver disease
  Severe kidney disease (use with caution)
  Patients taking:
  Antifungals (ketoconazole)
  Some antibiotics (erythromycin)
  Antiarrhythmics (amiodarone)
  Antipsychotics
  Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors
  Pregnancy or breastfeeding (only use if advised by doctor)

Side Effects:

• Common:
  Dry mouth
  Headache
  Mild diarrhea or constipation
  Abdominal pain
  Weakness
  Increased appetite (domperidone)
  Less common:
  Anxiety or dizziness
  Breast tenderness or discharge (↑ prolactin)
  Skin rash
  Flatulence

Precautions:

• Take on an empty stomach for best effect.
  Long-term use (>3 months) should be monitored for:
  B12 deficiency
  Low magnesium
  Bone weakness
  Avoid combining with other acid-reducing drugs unless prescribed.
  If you have heart conditions, use only with a doctor’s approval.
  If symptoms persist beyond 2 weeks, seek medical advice.

Dietary Restrictions:

• To reduce acidity:
  Avoid spicy, oily, fried, tomato-based, citrus foods
  Avoid tea, coffee, cold drinks, chocolate, mint
  Avoid alcohol and smoking (major triggers)
  Do not lie down immediately after meals
  Eat small, frequent meals
  Reduce late-night eating
  Maintain healthy weight (reduces reflux)
  Avoid alcohol completely—it increases acid and interacts with domperidone.
